Who Is Eva? Unmasking The Wanderer

At the heart of The Wanderer Trilogy is a woman with bloodied hands and a blazing fire in her chest. Eva Calloway. She’s not a hero, at least, not in the traditional sense. She is neither flawless nor fearless. She is neither wholly good or wholly bad. Let’s be honest, who is completely good in a post-apocalyptic environment? Everyone ‘good’ is dead, usually.

Nevertheless, Eva chooses (in some sense of the word) to walk through hell over and over again.

But… who is Eva? Truly?

That is the central question in all three books: Purpose, Preservation, and Prowess. Her journey isn’t just about an external conflict, but also focuses on how she navigates the unforgivable world while carrying the weight of her own choices (past, present, and future). At first, Eva fights to protect others—but as her journey unfolds, she’s forced to confront the darker voices rising within her.

Shadows that threaten to drag her into the abyss of her mind.

In Book 1, Purpose, you’ll meet a woman searching for meaning in a land scarred by a war that nearly wiped out all of humanity 250 years prior. She is protecting a small group of Rovers in the Eastern part of her region when she discovers a note about a hidden Vault in the hills to the North. Let’s just say, she finds more than just survivors there. Despite her inner turmoil, she never stops reaching for others. And in the end, it’s that fierce strength that keeps her alive.

In Preservation, that same strength is tested in even more brutal ways, twisting trust, loyalty, and even sanity.

And by Prowess… well… you’ll just have to find out. I will say that it isn’t about who she kills, it’s about what she becomes.

Many of you have asked if Eva is based on someone real. The truth? She’s part of all of us. She’s every person who has had to fight for a second chance. Every soul who’s tried to hold onto humanity in an inhumane world. Every survivor who’s had to battle not just monsters, but their own mind.

Her scars—both seen and unseen—tell a story. And when the time comes, maybe you’ll feel it too.

This trilogy isn’t just a single-layered story of one conflict. It’s a combination of everything – man vs. man, man vs. self, and man vs. environment. Layer after layer is peeled back as the reader delves deeper through the twists and turns of each book. Survival, villains, secrets.

And in the end, it’s not just about who survives. It’s about what’s left of them when they do.

💬 Question for You:
What does prowess mean to you in a Post-Apocalyptic World? Is it strength, survival, peace—or something else entirely?
